Appeals and Corrections

How to correct an error on a profile or appeal an evaluation result.

Version 1.0, effective 10 October 2026

Corrections to journal details

Anyone can report incorrect details using “Report an error or concern” on a journal’s profile. Journal owners can correct most details themselves from their account. We aim to review reports within 10 working days and record every correction.

Appealing an evaluation

A publisher may appeal within 30 days of receiving a result by writing to info@citeveriq.com with the reasons and any new evidence. Appeals are free.

An appeal is handled by a reviewer who was not involved in the original evaluation, usually within 30 days. The reviewer can confirm, change or withdraw the result. The decision is explained in writing.

If a result changes, the earlier result is kept in the record as superseded so that verification remains honest.

Concerns about a listed journal

If you believe a listed or certified journal is misleading authors or no longer meets our criteria, report it with evidence. We may contact the journal, suspend the listing while we investigate, and revoke a certificate if the concern is confirmed.
