About Citeveriq
An independent journal directory and evaluation service with a published methodology.
Researchers often have to decide where to submit their work with little reliable information about a journal. Citeveriq exists to make that information easier to find and easier to check.
Every journal in the directory has a confirmed ISSN and checked basic details. Journals that ask for an evaluation are assessed against 36 criteria in eight areas, from the editorial board and peer review to research ethics and transparency, using a methodology anyone can read. Each mark is backed by evidence that a reader can verify.
We publish two measures and keep them apart: an evaluation score that describes how a journal is run, and a citation indicator that describes how its recent articles are cited. Each is shown with its method, data source and date.
What we stand for
- Transparency. The criteria, weights, score bands and certificate threshold are public.
- Independence. Fees pay for the work, never for the result. Sales and scoring are separated, and every change is logged.
- Verifiability. Every certificate can be checked on this website, and the verification page always shows its current status.
- Fairness. Publishers see the evidence behind their result and can appeal it free of charge.
What Citeveriq is not
Citeveriq is not an indexing database and does not publish the Journal Impact Factor. A Citeveriq listing, score or certificate does not mean that a journal is indexed elsewhere or recognised by any university, funder or government body. Read the disclaimer for details.
